Be a Mentor

Mentoring is the most evolved occupation of a human-being. Mentoring a child is the field of one's passion. It is a god sent opportunity. We feel that full time mentors are blessed ones.

We have opportunities at GIIS for full time mentoring, part-time mentoring and talents mentoring. Full time mentors are people who take up responsibility of certain subjects and are available during the working time of the school.

Part time mentors are those who have limited amount of time available and they are with the school to carry out their passionate area of work on specified days and during a specified time. We fix up flexible hours.

Talents mentors are very similar to part-time mentors but take care of Talents Development activities, research activities, and specific topic related activities during the time available to them.

GEAR parents and anybody interested in taking up mentoring may mail their interest

One who is interested in being a GEAR Mentor would need to have certain key ingredients in the right proportion. like:

  • Passion
  • Originality
  • Hard work &
  • An urge to excel, amongst many more.

Once selected an extensive in-house TTD (Teaching Talents Development) session acts as our 15 day induction program, wherein a new teacher gets an idea of GEAR and its working. Everything - philosophy, HOTS, How to plan HOA , CIPE, maintaining of anecdotes , planning lessons in the framework of Multiple Intelligences etc are introduced.

Programs of appreciation:

  • Mentors are given G's or points which add to a G for any outstanding work in any field - question paper creation, activities, project planning, or any other area.
  • Every year four mentors are given Grants for their contribution in research, curriculum construction, affective development and empowerment.
    • Guru Balgopal Verma Research Grant
    • GEAR-Guru Curriculum Construction Grant
    • GEAR-parents Empowerment Grant
    • GEAR-Grandparents Affective Grant

GEAR Mentors get an opportunity to display their work at the annual MI Act Exhibition. Our mentors look forward to this day as it is a joy for them to see the reaction of many impressed parents and guests.

Like we do for our children, Talent Certificates are also awarded to our GEAR Mentors. recognising their unique individual talents.

    GEAR Discipline
GEAR may sound like a tough place to work, and it is. We are not a ruthless culture; we are a RIGOROUS culture. We mean to consistently apply exacting standards at all times and at all levels. Sincere people need not worry about their position and just need to concentrate fully on the work at hand.
